Uphold patriotism, Cuba-based students told
Mr Majaliwa is in Cuba on a working tour focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
“Patriotism is very important because we have lost a lot of development opportunities because a few of our citizens lack patriotism,” he explained.
He urged Tanzanians to work closely with the government, as it implemented many projects focused on economic growth in order to attain middle-income status.
The premier furthermore called on the students to adhere to the laws of the host country, adding that they should return home after completion of their studies, to contribute to nation-building endeavours.
“Study hard and pass your exams so that you can get employment and start refunding the loans you got, to facilitate disbursement to your other compatriots, “ he remarked.
Earlier, the students’ organisation chairperson, Mr Goodchance Tarimo, assured Mr Majaliwa that they would return home after completion of their courses. He said that the students were supporting the government leadership’s efforts in developing the nation.
“We commend the fifth phase government’s efforts in pushing economic growth, fighting corruption, and improving infrastructure,” Mr Tarimo added.
In another development, Prime Minister Majaliwa has called on all Tanzanian ambassadors abroad to market the country’s tourist attractions.
He reminded them that Tanzania had a lot of tourist attractions that they should strive to publicise and market, so as to boost tourist inflows.
Major tourist attractions include Mount Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar and Pemba islands and national parks.
